For Pentecost worship, Dr. Yolanda Williams conducts the Choir of Brunswick United Methodist Church, Crystal, Minnesota in the premiere of a work dedicated to them.
O Lord of Life is an anthem setting of a hymn written for Lutheran Arts in celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Text by Don Payne Holmstrom.

Katie Moss plays DET’s Variations on Simple Gifts
Wayzata Community Church Summer Organ Concert Series
Organist Katie Moss was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and moved to Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, when she was 11. Katie played the piano though high school and started playing the organ in college at Concordia University-Wisconsin in Milwaukee and received her Master’s in Organ Performance from Indiana University. She’s been organist at Messiah Lutheran Church since November 2017.
Enjoy free 30-minute concerts by world-class organists performing on the landmark magnum opus Charles Hendrickson tracker organ in the beautiful Sanctuary of Wayzata Community Church, 12:15 p.m. every Wednesday! Refreshments are served in Founders Hall following each recital.

Soprano Pei-Han Chao and pianist Tong Cheng perform DET’s The Wings of the Morning as part of a Music of Minnesota recital, part of the Source Song Festival held in the beautiful new Westminster Hall at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

The Minnesota State Band is the Official Band of the State of Minnesota and has been in existence for 120 years (since 1898). The band is the only remaining State Band in the United States. While at one time the band received funding from the State of Minnesota the band is now operated as a non-profit organization with an all-volunteer membership. The Minnesota State Band is one of the few community bands anywhere that regularly travels internationally. The Band has represented the State of Minnesota on six International Goodwill Tours since 1986. While international travel is important, the band sees its primary mission as providing high quality music to the residents of Minnesota. Thomas is at work on a commission for the Band’s November 3 concert.
Music in the Parks events are free and open to all.

While at one time the band received funding from the State of Minnesota the band is now operated as a non-profit organization with an all-volunteer membership. While international travel is important, the band sees its primary mission as providing high quality music to the residents of Minnesota.

Ladyslipper will transport you to sunbathed beaches in this rich and passionate program by Radamés Gnattali, Pablo de Sarasate, Federico Mompou and including DET’s arrangement of Falla’s 7 Popular Spanish Songs. Join mezzo-soprano Sahar Hassan, cellist Jane Cords-O’Hara and pianist Oleg Levin, along with guest artists violinist Stephanie Arado and bassist Charles Block for a Spanish collage.
Tickets: $10 available at the Cathedral Book Shop or at the door.
