The Artaria String Quartet (Ray Shows and Nancy Oliveros, violins, Annalee Wolf, viola, and Patricia Ryan, cello) is embarking on its fourth decade of string quartet playing and teaching. Winners of the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians, and named 2013-14 Minnesota Public Radio Artists-in-Residence, Artaria was also featured on Twin Cities Public Television as part of the “Minnesota Originals” series. Artaria’s refined and thoughtful playing has brought them to major venues throughout the United States and Europe, on national television and public radio stations, and at top summer festivals including the Banff Centre in Canada, Festival de L’Epau in France, and the Tanglewood Music Center. They are founders of the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition, which showcases the nation’s top high school age string quartets each April.

Soprano Maria Jette’s wide-ranging career has encompassed everything from early Baroque opera to world premieres, in the United States and abroad.  Her orchestral resumé includes The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Houston Symphony and many other orchestras. She’s often heard withVocalEssence (led by conductor Philip Brunelle), Chamber Music Society of Minnesota, Minnesota Sinfonia The Schubert Club and Lyra Baroque Orchestra. A regular guest over many seasons at the San Luis Obispo Mozart and Oregon Bach Festivals and the Oregon Festival of American Music, she was often heard nationally over 20+ years of  Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. Jette has sung many works by DET, including Petals Fallen from the Moon, which she commissioned, and By Heart.
