Choral Polaris, conducted by Bill Mathis, premieres David Evan Thomas’s cantata Song of Nature. Scored for SATB chorus and 6 instruments, Song of Nature is a cantata by David Evan Thomas based on a foundational text of transcendentalism by Ralph Waldo Emerson, the “Song of Nature.” Also on the program, John Rutter’s Requiem, scored for the same ensemble and In Ecclesiis by Giovanni Gabrieli.
