Saturday Salons: Lonely Hearts
Music made in Minnesota
A “farm to table” program of locally-sourced song featuring David Evan Thomas’s droll duet cycle Lonely Hearts to texts by the witty and acerbic British poet, Wendy Cope. Love—and LUST!—in the merry month of May.
Harrison Hintzsche, baritone
Anna Christofaro, soprano
Matt Harikian, piano
Harrison Hintzsche and Anna Christofaro are St. Olaf grads and first-call singers on the Twin Cities’ choral scene, and both wonderful solo singers. Also music by Libby Larsen, Eric Choate and Jocelyn Hagen.
Saturday Salons is a new matinee series hosted by Maria Jette, featuring the glorious gamut of the world’s chamber music, vocal and instrumental; from the earliest Renaissance and Baroque, through Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy and Ravel, to the 21st C and brand-new music written just last week. A different combination of performers and repertoire each Saturday afternoon in the Dunsmore Room: a listening room featuring a fine 9-foot Steinway piano and cabaret seating.
Small plates and full bar available during the concert. Dinner service begins at 4:30 PM.
